Educational Game: Prodigy Math

I'm all about educational apps for math and reading, and Prodigy Math Game gets bonus points because my child found it on his own! My son pays this game the ultimate compliment by saying, "Prodigy is Pokemon for math." Math is a favorite subject in our home, and as avid math app enthusiasts- we have found this one to meet our needs for the time being.

I love backend analytics. Yes, it is remarkable that my child is playing a math game and enjoys it, but what is happening? Once I learned how to toggle between teacher and parent accounts, I could access profoundly detailed reporting, including Placement, Progress, and areas that my child was struggling in. Another fantastic feature was the ability to assign work by the state standard. I am the type of homeschool mom that tries to make sure my children are steadily making progress in maths and English- regardless of learning differences and the reporting features make it easy for me to monitor progress. Here is an example of my child's placement test, he enjoys math, by the way:

The placement test starts immediately and runs in the background as the game is played. It begins at one grade below the grade that your student selected, and then works upwards to determine where your student's grade level really is. After the test ends, the curriculum continues to adapt, revisiting pre-requisites or jumping ahead depending on how your student performs.

Premium membership Required

This game offers a free version, but in my opinion the only way to play is with a membership. Otherwise your child will spend more time being marketed to more than playing the game. A Premium Membership unlocks extra in-game features, benefits, and rewards. Premium Members are motivated to spend more time playing Prodigy and level-up their math skills faster.

Makes Math Fun

We use prodigy at least three times a week. I typically give my child a choice between 3 or 4 math applications that he can play independently, and as of recently, Prodigy has been his go-to. Sometimes he even requests to play on a weekend, and thats when I know he enjoys it.

The Final Score

As you all know by now, I am a fan of any learning my child enjoys. This app gets two thumbs up from me. Please find a link below for you to try this game for yourself:
