About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
We spend as much time outdoors playing as possible. We emphasize Strength-Based, Interest-Led learning while rounding the bases daily with Math and Language-Arts. Consequentially, we go off the deep end into Greek Mythology, spend too much time playing Pokemon Trading Games, and build entirely too many Lego robots. My kids are STEM enthusiasts, but also have a deep love of literature and reading. We occasionally join group lessons to advantage of extensive experiments and get up close and personal with creatures. We're always searching for something new and stimulating when it comes to math. Extended playground visits happen more often than not.
Our Story
The Young Edisons Club was started to establish a community for my diverse homeschooler tribe - then Covid happened. In the interim, having to be evaluated annually by the state, the blog naturally turned into a living portfolio. Florida is hot, but it's also a fantastic location to homeschool. I use this blog to keep track of books read, places visited, and ongoing projects. We test-drive learning apps and explore curriculums freely. Hopefully, we can get back to event planning with both academic and social offerings fall!
